Lipstick
When most of your house colors are earthy, it helps to apply a little lipstick to add some pop. Fiesta ware on our open cabinet shelves in the kitchen are doing just that.
Thanks to our Fiesta friend Judi, we were able to fill our shelves with plates, dishes, bowls and mugs in a rainbow of colors.
Theresa’s paternal grandmother had Fiesta ware on her shelves and when we are at the family cabin in Colorado, we still use them. So when we turned toward finding kitchen ware it was a natural direction, especially with the ongoing guidance of Judi.
The stacks of Fiesta ware provide a placeholder for future guests. Our ware will certainly be covered with construction dust in the coming months, but their presence on our shelves now, speaks both of our progress and our intention. This is what we are working toward in the kitchen—a place for community to gather and share around a table. The long kitchen table is yet to be built, but we’ve space around several temporary tables and enough dinner ware now to let the spirit of the banquet begin breaking into the space at 151. We welcome it.
Love and Peace, Glenn
